Solovki monastery |
When in 1854 the English frigates were bombarding the monastery the canon-balls bounced back making not a mere damage to the walls. Such a release from the enemy was instantly considered as a miraculous since none of the monks processing on the walls during the fire hadn’t been hurt. The only canon-ball that had reached the altar stayed unexploded. |
