History
The Art
Museum of Stary Oskol in Russia was founded in 1988. It is one of
the youngest museums of Belgorod region. The formation of the collection
began with works which were transferred out from The Art Fund of
RSFSR, The Moscows factury of Drawing Art and The Belgorod's Fund
of Culture. Sometime later the collection of The Art Museum was
replenished by paintings of modern artists of neighbour regions.
It contains works of painting,graphic art, decorative and applied
art. In 2002 The Russian Fund of Fine Art in Moscow gave to The
Art Museum works of painting, pieces of graphic art made by the
artists from The Commonwealth of Independent Countries(CIC).
Works of Russian Federation hands form the base of the collection
in The Art Museum. Works chronologically reflect the period of 1940-
50ss. The collection of The Art Museum features works of Members
of Art of RSFSR: Maksimov K.M., Boot
N.I., Kurnakova A.I., Mamontov A.P., Matorin M.A., Pimenov V.V.,
Reichet V.I.; winners of State prize of USSR: Suzdalzev
M.A., Kurnakov A.I., Kosenkov
S.S. and other famous artists. Works of artists play great role
in the section of modern art in St.Oskol. They are Hegay
I.N., Shliapnikov P.S.,
Golishev V.V., Bolotov
Y.I. .The Art Museum exhibits paintings of modern art in halls
of Russian Banks, in cities of Russia: Moscow, St.Petersburg, Voronezh,
Kursk and others. Also it organizes festivals and opening days in
neighbour regions and Ukraine.
The Art Museum keeps the information about the creative work of
artists from Belgorod, Kursk, Voronezh, Moscow. Presently, the collection
of The Art Museum is being improved by works of modern artists..
