LITERATURE
Literature department was founded in May of 1979 and
the f irst
exposition was already opened in December of 1981. In the period of
its existence researchworkers collected more than 40 thousand museum
items. The museum reserves were filled with materials of the famous
writer and traveler V.K. Arsenyev, writer and scientist T.M. Borisov,
poet P.S. Komarov, authors of historical narratives V.N. Ivanov, N.P.
Sadornov and many others. The museum is the owner of the rich collection
of original documents, letters, photos and private things of writers.
The department does an active exhibitionwork. For the last years five
literature exhibitions, different in their form and content, were created
in the museum.
The exhibition "The epoch in faces" is based
on the materials from the archives of N.N. Matveev-Bodry. Th ere
are also such exhibitions as "V.N. Ivanov about A.S. Pushkin and
his time" (1999), "Far Eastern writers participants of the
Great Patriotic war" (2000), the exhibition devoted to the 90-th
birthday of P.S. Komarov(2001), "The Far East is in my blood since
my childhood" (100 years anniversary of A.A.Fadeev, 2001).
In connection with the building of some new museum rooms, the department
prepares a new exposition "The Far East in the works of Russian
writers. The literature process in the Far East in the XXth century."
