The battle-painting was created by the national artist of the Russian Federation Efim Isaakovich Deshalit a well known master of panorama-diorama's art. E. Deshalit is the author of scale panoramic works such, as the "Salute of the Victory", "Tchapaev's last battle", "Battle for Bagrationov's fleshes", "Heroic Presnya. 1905" and many others.
His works were successfully showed at the Soviet Union and international exhibitions where their were more than once marked by the awards. During the work over the diorama's creation "Battle at Maloyaroslavetz" E. Deshalit has cafully studied the numerous literature over the history of the Patriotic war of 1812, the uniform of the Russian and French troops , and also the landscape on which the events having been deployed was explored in detail. The designers and other experts of the Moscow centre of the diorama-layout drawing and art works helped him in this work.
The diorama survey is accompanied by the narration and special sound effects. By the means of painting, size, colour, music, naration the artist revives one of the most famous battles in the history of the Patriotic war of 1812.
The diorama "Battle at Maloyaroslavetz" was opened the September 12, 1987 in the building of the ancient chapel. This battle-painting was created especially for this building. The area of this painting is 19,95 square metres. The size -- 10,00 square metres.
