The building of the ancient chapel

The building of a former chapel is a monument of history and architecture. It was constructed in 1860 by means of the participant of the Patriotic war of 1812, retired major F. M.Maksimov «to commemorate the memory of the soldiers died on the battlefield in October 12, 1812».

In the building of the former chapel since 1987 have been situated the diorama «Battle at Maloyaroslavetz», created by the master of panoramic works E. Deshalit.

The chapel is situated in town square of the «Year 1812», near the tombs of the Russian soldiers, died on October 12/24.
