Skvortsov Leonty Fyodorovich. 1897-1972. Mari ASSR Born in the family of Mari peasant. Served in the Red army, worked at the collective farm, after 1937 - in the local court and legal authorities. In 1919 for a short time studied at Kazan’ military-art school. Since 1960 turned to painting on a more regular and systematic basis.
